Mary Allen

About

About
Mary's spontaneous and bold work embodies a very personal take on her beloved Cornwall and all things related to the sea and coastline, and through her marriage in 2012 to a Scotsman, Doug Graham, her work now includes Scottish scenes including the Western Isles.

She lives with her husband at The Owls House, St. Hilary Churchtown , not far from the historical town of Marazion and St. Michael's Mount, where she works in her beautiful garden studio which is open to the public when she is not away on her travels.

The palette knife is her preferred tool and oil her favourite medium although she does occasionally produce mixed media work. Atmospheric scenes of storms and heavy seas are a well recognised feature of Mary's work along with working boats, Cornish luggers and yachts.

Landscapes also have a role to play as do equine studies. Mary has enjoyed some considerable success over the years and now exhibits work at The Harbour Gallery, Portscatho, Cornwall and Webb's Fine Art Gallery, London.
With her own open studio and private exhibitions in St. Ives she is kept busy.
